"I saw in the reflection not a hero, just stupid me. Swallowing what felt like a small partial to vomit twice on the way up to the near-top, I gazed into something that might... may... help.

Had I actually did let it out on the floor in front of that thug, I wonder if I would've been treated any sort of medical attention. I doubt it; still, my body's sore to the point of being ripped out limb from limb, arm to arm." - Vinnie

TL;RA. (too long - read anyway. :P)

The background is white solely for artistic preference. Some comics I've read usually do something like that to separate themselves from what's to be, and I figured, 'Why not?'

Flash has been nothing but trouble since the making of this page. Sometimes the computer mouse I had been using acted skittish, in a sense that despite me holding down the button to get the curves right for these images, it'd either skip, not respond, or act fast like the settings for it's sensitivity had been hoisted way up... which can't be right, because I checked, and they were on normal settings.

Sometimes connecting the lines wouldn't appear or would delete themselves, including the artwork, almost as if I had instant erased everything. Thank god for the Undo button, but it was pissing me off for awhile.

Thankfully, all was well. Cracks usually left behind in the shading/colors disappeared now and again and didn't pose too much of a threat this time.

...So here we have Vinnie escaping the Confederate gaurds aboard the ship!

Someone compared what's been happening to something akin to the infamous graphic novel Maus by ol' Art Spiegelman. As much as I want to agree with you, and I'm sure that distinction comes up just by watching this entire issue alone - I'm afraid that comparison's a bit off.

I think the confusion lies between the situation and how bad my art is, however, that comic was, I think, autobiographical in some form - it was about his history. I've never read it nor had time to. This, on the other hand, is sort of like a portential set-up alternate reality story drive to keep KUWT away from the series most people might recognize it for, like American Tail or Great Mouse Detective.

Besides, it's already established in all five issues that this is about little mice who steal food or items from humans... not "this country will be portrayed by this animal 'cause it's symbolic".
