<i>One week to the day I found him, and the man struggles to keep awake. I don't know this mouse or what had caused his fateful encounter. I do know that I've spent more than my life savings in making sure the best doctor could be reached to retrieve him. Too little too late, I suppose, as the squirrel didn't arrive until dawn...
Still, I feel his hands each moment and the heart continues to beat. He's in there somewhere, but his bones are brittle and grinded by his enemy. As extensive work can be done, I sincerely hope two fates do not befall me in this dreadful winter. I make time to visit when I can, putting my renewed faith into his rescue as a means of energizing my trips with Elizabeth into socializing with the rest of the city. No one speaks a word to me about the incident, and I'm thankful they don't... the less attraction the better.
Death has been easygoing onto London this year, but notable lives continue to join the afterlife; people I've known, people I've read in the trade.
Please, not one more.
